Spring Stripers in Maine

Tidal Expeditions | Portland Maine Fishing | June 21, 2019

The 2019 Maine striped bass season has been off to a stellar start with lots of mid-sized fish that want to pull hard. These fish have been eating flies of all types from topwater to shrimp patterns. On the spin rods, topwater plugs like the spook or lightly weighted plastics have been working well. We are still seeing fresh groups of fish pushing into the area which will provide excellent targets for sight fishing throughout the summer. When areas to the south start to slow down in July and August, the fish in Casco Bay and around Portland stay on the feed. If you want to fish for stripers on the saltwater flats of Maine, give us a call.
